It has been a long cold windy winter so now that we are finally welcoming spring, let's celebrate through a weeklong series of events dedicated to honoring the Town's parks!
Love Your Park Week kicks off April 19 and runs until April 26! All events are free and open to the public. Registration is only required for one of the events.
Here is the schedule of events!
April 19 -- Rock Skipping Contest, Prospect Park, 107 Prospect Rd., 4 p.m. (Please bring flat rocks to skip)
April 20 -- I Spy, Vest Pocket Park, 317 N. Main St., all day -- do at your own pace
April 21 -- Storytime with the Carroll County Library -- Mount Airy Branch, Wildwood Park, 400 Park Ave., 11 a.m.
April 22 -- Nature Walk on Earth Day, East West Park, 1115 Prospect Rd., 6:30 p.m.
April 23 -- Intro to Mountain Biking, Windy Ridge Trails -- access through East West Park, 1115 Prospect Rd., 6 p.m. (Pre-registration is required as spots are limited. Email parksmanager@mountairymd.gov.)
April 24 -- Intro to Composting, Mount Airy Community Garden, 714 Rising Ridge Rd., 6 p.m.
April 25 -- Frederick Acoustic Music Enterprise (FAME) Song Circle, Summit Ridge Park, 701 Buffalo Rd., 7 to 8:30 p.m.
April 26 -- Let's Talk Trash Cleanup Event with the Rotary Club of Mount Airy, Railyard, 1 N. Main St., register between 7 to 9 a.m., contest runs from 8 to 10 a.m.
