Was your property damaged in the tornado which occurred in Mount Airy on November 2, 2018? Could you use assistance in the form of a loan to repair or replace disaster-damaged property? Join us TODAY, on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TownofMountAiry/ for a LIVE Question & Answer Session with Julie Garrett, of the U.S. Small Business Administration to learn more information, ask questions and receive answers. She is here locally for a few more days and can offer in-person assistance until Tuesday 12/18 at 4 p.m. Homeowners or businesses can qualify.

Impacted by the recent tornadoes? Federal disaster assistance is now available! Businesses of all sizes, non-profit and faith-based organizations, and HOMEOWNERS and RENTERS can apply for low-interest disaster loans. The Mount Airy Branch Library, 705 Ridge Ave., is hosting a disaster loan outreach center with customer service reps available to answer your questions and help you put in an application. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 15, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; closed Sunday Dec. 16. The center closes permanently at 4 p.m., Tues., Dec. 18. All you need to bring is a photo ID, the address of the damaged property, and know your social security number (you do not need to bring a SS card). For more information, call 800-659-2955. You can also apply online at www.disasterloan.sba.gov. The application deadline is Feb. 5, 2019 for physical damage loans, and Sept. 9, 2019 for small business economic damage loans.
