Passionate Leaders Preserving Our Town's Heart

The Mount Airy Main Street Board of Directors is made up of dedicated volunteers who care deeply about the future of our downtown. They bring diverse skills, local insight, and a shared commitment to making Main Street a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone.

Each board member serves a two-year term and contributes time, talent, and vision to support local businesses, enhance our historic charm, and strengthen the community connection that defines Mount Airy. From organizing events to overseeing streetscape improvements, this group plays a hands-on role in keeping Main Street thriving.

Below, meet the people working behind the scenes to make it all happen.

Executive Leadership

President: Kelly Patrick*- Kelly Patrick has been a member of the Mount Airy Main Street Association since 2016 and currently serves as President of the Board. She finds deep joy in supporting a community that celebrates its small-town charm while fostering meaningful growth. Kelly is passionate about helping local businesses thrive and seeing the positive impact that MAMSA’s efforts have on both residents and visitors. Through collaboration and connection, she works to preserve Mount Airy’s unique character and contribute to a vibrant, welcoming downtown for everyone.

Vice President: Billy Deavers*- Billy Deavers holds a B.A. in Music and spent years teaching guitar before transitioning to a new career. When he’s not working with MAMSA or at the brewery, you can often find him playing guitar—a lifelong passion. Billy joined MAMSA to help foster stronger connections between downtown businesses and to support a thriving Main Street environment. He believes in collaboration and community, and lives by the motto: “A rising tide lifts all boats.”

Treasurer: Dick Swanson*
Secretary: Raymond Miller*- Originally from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Raymond Miller has called Mount Airy home since 1992. He is the proud father of two children, Brynn and Zeb, and has been an active member of the community for decades. Raymond has been a member of Lions International since 1990 and is a Charter Member of the 4 County Lions Club in Mount Airy. A real estate agent with RE/MAX since 2005, Raymond’s earlier careers included working as a butcher in a family-owned grocery store in Virginia and spending 20 years in the moving, storage, and trucking industry. When he’s not volunteering or working, he enjoys music, outdoor activities, yard work, and reading. A fun fact: Raymond has traveled to every one of the lower 48 states—except North Dakota. He joined MAMSA to give back to the town he’s called home for over 30 years and to help promote the events and businesses that make Mount Airy special.

Main Street Manager: Ashley Collier- Ashley Collier has over 15 years of experience in community development, public engagement, and government relations. She served with the U.S. House of Representatives from the 107th to the 112th Congress, where she resolved more than 2,000 constituent cases and led outreach for veterans, farmers, and small businesses. She has proudly served as Mount Airy’s Main Street Manager for the past 10 years and currently also leads as the Town’s Director of Community Development. In that time, she has helped secure over $3 million in funding for local projects and economic development initiatives. A passionate advocate for service, Ashley has also served on multiple nonprofit boards and continues to champion volunteerism as a way to strengthen and connect communities. Ashley believes deeply in the power of volunteerism to build relationships, strengthen communities, and drive lasting impact.

Board of Directors

Alexandra Banderas-  Alexandra Banderas is a senior loan officer with over 24 years of experience in mortgage lending, helping more than 1,000 families—many of them first-time buyers and Spanish-speaking clients—become proud homeowners. In her spare time, she volunteers with the Mount Airy Main Street Association, supporting events and outreach that celebrate the town’s charm and diversity. Originally from Ecuador, Alexandra brings warmth, creativity, and cultural pride to everything she touches. Whether guiding a buyer through financing or helping organize a community festival, her goal is to uplift and connect. She believes in second chances, small-town strength, and leaving a legacy of love and service—one family, one story, one handshake at a time.

Viki Tressler- Viki is a second-generation barber who has been licensed since 2005. In 2019, she opened Four County Barber Shop on Main Street, where she proudly serves the local community with skill, care, and tradition. She joined MAMSA inspired by the incredible people involved and the meaningful impact they make throughout the area. Being part of such a supportive and community-driven group has been a true honor.

Lauren Pulz**- Lauren has been proud to serve on the MAMSA board since 2022. As a small business owner, Single Barrel Soaps, and resident of Mount Airy she is passionate about supporting the downtown community. Her love for Mount Airy's Main Street began almost 10 years ago when it played a major role in her family's decision to move to the area. Now both a business owner and resident, she brings fresh ideas and a deep commitment to helping downtown thrive. She is especially excited about creating new opportunities to draw visitors in and helping to make Mount Airy a place where people want to spend the whole day exploring, shopping, and dining.

Linda Wheeler**- Originally from Baltimore County, Linda Wheeler has lived in the Mount Airy area for the past 40 years. She is the proud parent of three grown children and is retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service, where she served as an International Trade Specialist. Her work took her to many locations around the world. When she’s not volunteering, Linda enjoys listening to Bluegrass music at Liquidity Aleworks and other local venues. She also spends her time hiking, biking, gardening, and enjoying the company of family and friends. Linda volunteers with MAMSA because Mount Airy is her hometown, and she is committed to helping it remain a prosperous and enjoyable place to live and visit.

Amanda Loettle**- Amanda Loetterle is a lifelong member of the Mount Airy community and a proud mom of three. She joined MAMSA to help build meaningful connections within the community—for her children, her friends, and her neighbors. Outside of her work with MAMSA, Amanda leads local homeschool groups and community events—often with a baby on her hip.
