We will continue to monitor Hurricane Florence’s progress and have daily updates from NWS. Preparedness activities should take place early in the week to ensure we are ready. I would expect more detailed briefs with confident track and timing to start on approximately Wednesday. While the track may still vary significantly this many days out, it looks like the end of the week into next weekend will be our highest risk for significant impacts. (see last graphic below)

* From this evening until Tuesday evening.
* At 12 PM Sunday the stage was 10.0 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early this evening and crest
near 19.0 feet by tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood
stage by early Tuesday afternoon.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Water reaches Gambrill Mill on the Monocacy
National Battlefield.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.6 feet
on May 17 2014.
