The Audubon Society of Central Maryland (ASCM) will host a Native Plant Sale from 9 am to 1 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary. The ASCM’s 130-acre wildlife and native plant sanctuary is located at 13030 Old Annapolis Road, west of Mount Airy, MD. Birds, pollinators, and other wildlife need a diverse and healthy native habitat to survive and thrive. Gardeners and wildlife enthusiasts can support them by growing plants native to Central Maryland. Native plants tend to be hardier and lower maintenance than non-native plants. Once established, they require less water if planted in the proper location since they are adapted to their native environment. The unique selection of hard-to-find, healthy native plants from local growers makes the Audubon’s 21st annual sale a "Don't Miss" event for gardeners and wildlife enthusiasts. The event also offers attendees an opportunity to talk with experts about native plants and wildlife, especially birds.
